I know this is silly, but I was proud of the pile of kindling I chopped up this morning.
Mom took some time to clean and make the space pretty!
Lisa colors for fun/leisure and her work is beautiful. Check out her instagram at @duggan.lisatide
I got a fish crumble at the Wairarapa Bakery. It's like a fish fillet.
Getting mom into thrifting. I'm not much of a thrifter, but it sure has been fun checking out all these places. There seems to be a lot in New Zealand!
Mom and I bought some "lo mai fan" today from Chan's Chinese Restaurant. Their "lo mai fan" doesn't have any meat or lap cherng, but the rice part was done just right. We enjoyed it with our rack of lamb for dinner. Loren Lo's family has owned Chan's restaurant for 50 years now. Wow...immigrants from Hong Kong. We enjoyed our 45 minute conversation talking about politics of NZ and Hong Kong, Covid, lifestyles and compared notes about living in NZ and US. It was really great to connect with someone who spoke Cantonese.
And we'll end with this photo:
Lisa said, "It's not every day that you follow a toilet on the road!" 😂
