Buenos Dias with walk in the beach. No alligators! Whew! Lol!

Breakfast at Las Casitas at the resort. Yummy spinach crepes and eggs Benedict with salmon

We visited the ChocoMuseo today. Paid $55/each for a three hour workshop that turned into four hours. Elias started us off with the cacao beans and making three drinks: cacao husk tea, cacahatl (cacao bean paste with chile, and water) and lastly chocolate milk (cloves, anise, cinnamon, milk and cacao paste). Elias shared so much about the science and process of cacao beans and chocolate. We talked a lot also about history, colonization, cancer, whales, white supremacy culture. His portion of the workshop went overtime because we made so many connections to all things chocolate, science, and people.

Liz led us in the candy making part of the workshop. We made bon bons and truffles. It was A LOT of work to mix, cool, temper the chocolate. We had to microwave, refrigerate, mix. Pour into molds, roll, dip, garnish. And the chocolates we made were EXCELLENT tasting. Dark chocolate. All good. Highly recommend this chocolate experience workshop. So fun connecting with Elias and Liz who turned out to be a couple. Loved Liz’ style!

At Los  Companeros for dinner. Lots of Google reviews. Couple of thousand, in fact. Pozole, sopes, enchilada, y tacos. Hibiscus drink. All so good. Bright me back to the days when I worked at Cesar Chavez Elementary and had authentic Mexican meals cooked by school parent.

Walking through town. Beautiful colors, art, sights. Super hot and humid. And loving being with other visitors in town.

And another day is done. Thanks to all things and people that touch and bless me. Grateful for the people in the service industry that make it possible for me to enjoy my travels.
