Mom and I enjoyed the hotel room until 11:00. No morning plans, so hung out in bed, I blogged, we FaceTimed dad, watched some news, mom ate soda crackers that she said were sooo good. She really does like eating soda crackers! And she continued to rearrange her luggage. This is something she does a lot. A bit annoying to me cause she's puttering around and making tons of noise, but oh well, to each their own.
We met Tsubomi and Kazuki at this spot but didn't actually eat here.
Instead we went to fast food sushi. I couldn't figure out the name of the place, but they said there are many locations, like McDonald's!.
There was a conveyor belt where the sushi was delivered to you. But the sushi does not go around the conveyor belt so that you can select, instead, you order from the pad and the sushi gets delivered to your table/station. There was a change two months ago after a video went viral of a teen licking the cups at the restaurant. The restaurant had to change their process/procedures so that people couldn't mess with the food. It was fun eating this way and chatting with Tsubomi and Kazuki.
Tsubomi and Kazuki rode on the subway with us from Namba to Umeda. Tsubomi said Umeda Station is crowded, busy, and confusing. They got us on the train to Mino Falls.
Train/subway station. Great signage.
Everything is packaged so beautifully like individual gifts.
Mino Falls area sells fried maple leaves as snacks. There were quite a few shops that sold these. They are very pretty. We didn't get any though. We had food in our packs that we wanted to eat. 7-Eleven baby! Mom loves the curry bread.
There's a huge elevator that takes people up to the hotel in the area.
On our walk up to the waterfall. We appreciated the warmer temps today. Many couples and children were out walking too. We saw runners and people of all ages on the paved trail.
Looking at snacks along the way. Mouth watering snacks.
Reached the waterfall!
We sat, rested, and had some water. Mom loves these puffs. I told her we can get something similar in US. She said she's never had it before and that she didn't think we had it. I told her just because you've never had it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. This is something that I've been trying to tell her for a long time now.
Mom pretty much ate the entire bag of puffs by herself!
We saw these fish on a stick and decided to try it. It was fishy.
On our walk up and down we saw a lot of dogs. Small dogs. But this group of dogs were pretty big and there was a liter of them in the rolling cart. I don't know what kind of dogs these are, but they were so cute!
We saw this Pochacco display at the mall and decided to take a pic. I used to love Sanrio stuff as a kid.
We had sushi boat for dinner and it was a fancier place. We had salmon, tuna, eel sushi and tempura and udon. Great dinner! Fish was fresh! All for $21 USD total! What a deal!
Tsutenkaku Tower (I think)
Ended the evening with a strawberry Daifuku gifted to us from Tsubomi. I really enjoyed it. The mochi was so soft, strawberry was sweet. This is from Ben Zai Ten.
I want to go out and get some other fruits to try!
I LOOOOOVE that you were able to meet up with Tsubomi ^_^ so nice to be able to meet up with familiar faces in foreign places. That daifuku looks good. Are those puffs like turtle chips?
ReplyDeleteI loved meeting up with Tsubomi too! and we got to meet Kazuki! The daifuku is soooo yummy and I want to find more locations so that I can get some in Kyoto area. I want to try the fig! Corn puff are kind of like turtle chips. But I can't remember what turtle chips taste like.
